 Euan Mee

Born Doncaster, England, 1971. Studied Rotherham School of Art 1990-93

Mee

Mee explores what he calls "the shifting boundaries of me and you, self and other". He spent a year in 1995 pretending to be a Slovakian refugee in the West Midlands, before being deported for having no passport or relatives.

After accidentally severing his right arm during a group performance piece in Hilversum, Holland in 1997, Mee began adopting a more conventional studio practice involving mice and small pieces of dried tapioca.

He lives and works in Kyoto, Japan where, following the success of his 'premature' autobiography, entitled 'Mee Mee Mee', he published a three-thousand page self-help directory for left-handed people entitled 'Give Mee a Hand'.
