correspondent Tate Britain, the UK's premier location for British art, has been turned into an exclusive health club complete with running track, saunas and super-gym. |

As punters rolled up to look at British art this week, many were knocked down by marauding joggers sprinting from one end of the Duveen Galleries to the other. "We had to do something to stem the inexorable tide of punters flocking to Tate Modern," said Tate Fitness Club manager Dwayne Cholmondely-Steroid. "We can't compete with the new Turbine Hall squash court." Membership fees for the exclusive club start at £10,000 per month. Friends of the Royal Academy are allowed in free when showing their bus passes. Nick Serotonin |
